Do What You Love and Get Paid For It: Creating a Life You Actually Love

How Close are You to Quitting?

So you work a job you hate. It's not that bad, and maybe the co-workers even make it worth staying... for now.
But what if you could do what you love and get paid enough to live — just by following your passions?

“Yeah right,” that sounds too good to be true.
But what if I told you this is the reality for thousands of everyday people —
Creating music, art, shopping, organizing, decorating, or even event planning.

There is a way to create a business from what you love.

Maybe you’ve already stumbled down the rabbit hole…
Googling things like “how to make money online,” “how to start a business from home,” or “how to quit your job.”

Let me tell you — you’re not alone.

I get it — we’ve all been conditioned to believe that we should follow the “right” path.
Go to school. Get good grades. Go to college. Get a steady job in your field.
But this isn’t the ‘80s.
The idea of climbing a corporate ladder with company loyalty and enough experience is basically folklore at this point.
And even getting a degree doesn’t guarantee you job security or a livable wage.

"A 2023 survey conducted by Payroll.org highlighted that 78% of Americans live paycheck to paycheck, a 6% increase from the previous year. In other words, more than three-quarters of Americans struggle to save or invest after paying for their monthly expenses.

Similarly, a 2023 Forbes Advisor survey revealed that nearly 70% of respondents either identified as living paycheck to paycheck (40%) or—even more concerning—reported that their income doesn’t even cover their standard expenses (29%). "

Here’s the reality:

  • A 2023 Payroll.org survey showed that 78% of Americans live paycheck to paycheck — up 6% from last year.
  • Forbes reports that nearly 70% either barely make ends meet or don’t make enough to cover basic expenses.

And get this — even some six-figure earners are still stuck in the paycheck-to-paycheck cycle.

Why? Because of three key struggles:

The high cost of living (housing, groceries, energy, etc.)

A lack of financial literacy and long-term wealth strategy

Underpaid jobs that drain your energy without building your future

Sound familiar?

You’re not broken. The system is.
But here's the truth no one teaches you in school:

👉 You can build a business from what you actually love.
👉 You don’t need a fancy degree or a massive audience.
👉 You just need belief, clarity, and a place to start.

And that’s what we’re diving into today.

Why Passion Matters in Business (And How to Make It Profitable)

We’ve all heard the term “starving artist,” right?

It’s been drilled into us that finding a job you actually enjoy — and that also pays well — is some kind of unicorn dream job.

But it’s 2025.
We have the internet.
We have AI.
We have automation and insane amounts of power at our fingertips.

We’re not living in a world where fame and fortune are only for the born-rich or the Hollywood elite.

You don’t have to wait around for a producer to “discover” you, sign away your creative rights, and pray that you make it big.
The game has changed.

Now we have social media — and the audience doesn’t want polished perfection.

They want authenticity.

People want real. Relatable. Raw.
And that is where the magic is.

We’re living in a time where people are getting paid to:

  • Eat at fancy restaurants
  • Paint or draw
  • Teach their favorite subject
  • Decorate their homes
  • Play with their dogs

Anything is possible now.

The rules have changed — and you don’t need permission anymore.

Why Chasing Profit First Fails — And What Actually Works

Most people, when they finally get fed up and try to break out of the system, make the same mistake:

They choose something they don’t even like, don’t know much about, and honestly…
kind of hate.

Why?

Because someone on YouTube said it was a “profitable niche.”

So they chase the money — and end up building a business they resent just as much as their 9–5.

More often than not this causes them more stress, less freedom and the ultimately give up.

Here’s the truth:
You can make money doing what you love.
You can build a business around your actual gifts.
But it only works when you have these 3 things in place:

#1 Passion
When I talk about passion, I'm not talking about a hobby or something you enjoy sometimes.
I mean obsession. That thing you can’t stop thinking about. The topic you fall down rabbit holes for. The thing you’d do for free — but now you’re ready to get paid for it.

If you aren’t obsessed with some aspect of your topic of interest, it’s likely you’ll lose interest and fall off the bandwagon.
But it doesn’t have to be this way.

Why obsession?
Well, when you are relying on yourself to create an income based on passion, you need to have a growing knowledge base.

Let me say that another way:

You need to be intentionally surrounding yourself with more of the topic you want to create your dream life around.

This means you DON’T have to be perfect.
You don’t even need to be an expert.
You just need to have a base understanding, a willingness to learn, some personal experience, and a soul-driven “why.”

#2 Authenticity:

In a world full of false perfection and filtered vision, people crave authenticity — being raw, real, and flawed.

You can't have that when you’re putting on a show to make some extra cash.

Imagine talking to your bestie in your customer service voice.
How shallow and weird would that feel? Because she knows the real you — and it’s NOT the show you put on to be polite to patrons.

Authenticity is also about relatability.
When you’re perfect, how can you understand what your fellow humans are going through?
You can’t.

But when you struggle, when you fall, or when something clicks — that becomes a bonding moment.
That allows you to relate to people like you, who will also find interest in your topic.

You’re not trying to be a copy-and-paste Kim Kardashian.

You’re telling your story, with you as the main character

#3 Strategy
You don’t know what you don’t know.

When I started one of my first “side hustles,” I got into photography.

I had the passion, and some of the authenticity — but I lacked in this third pillar pretty hard, and it crashed my business straight into the ground.

Now, I'm not going to say there's only one right way to do anything.
There are a million ways, and you need to find what resonates with you — but a pretty good place to start is with a proven strategy.

There’s so much value in learning from people who have already had success in what we want to do.

Why recreate the wheel when you can get the inside scoop from someone who has created a jet?

However you want to get your info is great — books, courses, webinars, guides, mentorship...
The more, the merrier!

How to Start a Business From Scratch (Without Burning Out)

If you’ve made it this far, I already know something about you:

You’re not here to play small. You’re here because you know you’re meant for more — more freedom, more purpose, more you in your day-to-day life.

But let’s be real — knowing you’re ready for something different and actually starting can feel like two different worlds.

“Where do I even begin?”
“What niche do I choose?”
“What if I mess it up?”
“What if I don’t have the time?”

I’ve asked those same questions.
And after trying to figure it all out the hard way, I realized something important:

Starting a business doesn’t have to mean hustle, burnout, or building everything from scratch.

That’s why I created something different.
Something soft.
Something strategic.
Something actually doable.
