How to Turn Your Passion into a Profitable Business
So you want to start a business... but you arent sure where to start.
I've been there!
Maybe you've start a business that you didnt love because it made logical sense, or because you needed the money. Been there too.
But the truth is, you wont go far with a business that doesnt light you up. If you arent obsessed, it's not it.
In this post, we're going to go over the basics of starting a business, even if you are starting from absolutely zero, you will be able to get something out of reading this!

One of the best parts of being an entreprenuer is that you get to make the calls. Whatever you do is completely up to you! Your passions, your preferences, your choice.
Having your own business means creating something as unique as you are. I personally think that's pretty cool.
Choosing a topic
Some may call this a niche but really this is your topic, and its a lot less complicated when you think of this as a conversation. One that you would actually like to have.
Think of it this way, If you had to speak on stage for 90 minutes with no breaks, about any topic you choose to win 1 million dollars, what topic would you choose?
Did something come to mind? thats probably a pretty good topic to start with.
You might be thinking "but how can I make money by talking about (whatever that topic that just came to you was)"
and the answer to that is... pretty simply actually..
Let's say the topic that came to mind was your kids, that its so easy to talk about being a homeschooling mom or about your new baby. Your "niche" would be parenting.
maybe the topic that popped up for you was nutrition, or excersize, or balancing your hormones with PCOS.
This would be the health "niche"
Maybe the topic that you thought of had to do with creating, writing, painting or sewing,
this would be a creative "niche"
whatever it was that you though of there IS a way you can start creating a business around it.
3 things to consider when choosing your topic.
1 is this something I enjoy talking about/ working on?
2 is there a way I can help others within this topic (teaching, giving recomendations or entertaining)
3 have I seen any kind of transormation in my life around this topic? (lost weight after being overweight, got pregnant after infertility, started something confused and found clarity. etc)

Business Models That WORK
You can go on any platform and find hundreds of side hustles and ways to make money, I have done plenty of them. some work and others make you work hard for pennies. But these business models I mention in this post I have actually used and actually made money from.
first up is affiliate marketing.
with affiliate marketing you can find products and services to promote in pretty much any niche (topic).
Affiliate marketing is also extremely beginner friendly as you dont have to have any products to get started.
this business model works by partnering with a company and getting a unique link. You get people to see that link and show off products by those companies and when someone makes a purchase you earn a commision (you get paid!).
commisions can range from a few cents to thousands of dollars depending on if you are doing high ticket (more expensive big products) or low ticket ( smaller, less expensive products).
I also love affiliate marketing because when you are an affiliate for a company you dont have to make your own products, you also dont have to store those products or even deal with shipping. all you are doing is recommending certain brands that you actually love and over 80% of companies in america have affiliate programs you can join.

Amazon
Walmart
Target
Lululemon
Chewy
and so many more!

The next business model is selling digital products.
This business model is amazing because the information industry is HUGE!
selling digital products can also be extremly diverse.
some examples of digital products includes (not limited to)
ebooks (like recipie books, fantasy, travel guides, and how to books)
courses ( like dog training, cooking classes, digital art classes, martial are and so much more)
design ( illustrations, or just photos and videos)
There are so many options when it comes to creating and hosting digital products.
I love this model because you can deliver your products instantly, no shipping, no inventory and you OWN the product without having to create a new one for each and every customer.
The last Business Model I will go over is Entertainment.
With this model you just do what you love, show yourself painting, singing, playing video games, tell stories or do your makeup. With this option your are using social medias ability to monetise views, the more entertaining you are the more people watch you the more you get paid.
You can also use sites like patreon for additional money making potential.
I found this one also pairs well with print on demand products, making your own merch or even put your art on stuff for people to purchase.
Mindset
You may be thinking "alright this all sounds pretty good so far but how do i know this will work for me?"
You don't.
The same way you don't know you arent getting laid off until it hapends, or that the stock market will crash or that you'll have a medical emergency etc. Life in unpredicable.
Before I started my business I was working a steady job making 6 figures, I had just been hired as a manager for a large team on one of the most profitable products this company ran (a multi billion dollar company mind you).
8 months later I went on maternity leave when I had my son and not 2 weeeks later I was called and told I had 2 options. Take a major paycut or a severance.
I took the severance.
I spent the next 2 years building my business, and the craziest thing happened.
The more I stressed myself out, the worse I did. The more hours I poured into my business the less I sold.
When I started to expect good things, and follow the impulses that came and felt good, my business blew up!
I made amazing sales and had huge impact!
and when I would start to think "is this too good to be true?" I would shut off that faucet of blessings again.
What I'm saying here is it took me nearly 2 years to realise that my mentality around how my business "should be" was my direct manifestation on how it actually happened.
“But I would never TRY to attract bad things or hard times into my life” of course not, no sane person would. However what you expect is what you accept. “that ‘s just the way it is” or “thats just my luck” is expecting things to go wrong, accepting or believing internally that it is fact (which searches for all evidence that re-affirms it) and because you expect these things to happen, and you accept them to be true you tolerate them when they do come, which keeps them around instead of getting rid of them which guess what? Allows them to stay in your experience or to come back at any time.
and in the same way when you expect the good, and you think "things always work out for me" you accept that to be true and your always searching for it which brings it around more abundantly, and you ONLY tolerate things that are serving you and are for your greatest good, you arent wasting your time and energy on the things that frustrate you or exhaust you, and that allows room for oportunity, growth and prosperity to come into your life and your business.
Getting Seen
It's no secret that to have a flourishing business you need to have customers.
That means people need to see you (walk into your store, see your website or get your links).
and it's actually easier now than it has EVER been to get noticed.
How? you may ask...
Social media, blogs, podcasts..
all of these are great ways to start getting traction in your business!
If you want to reach people you NEED to get online. It's not rocket science.
You don't have to show your face and there are even programs to use AI instead of your own voice. There are ZERO excuses not be online in some way. My personal favorite is social media but honestly I have a lot of fun with each of these methods.
Attraction - NOT Chasing
If you have ever considered starting a business before maybe you have been in a MLM or other business model that is similar, the MAIN issue I have with MLM's is there is NO marketing training. Like AT ALL. I'ts just someone telling you to message your friends and family on fb and host parties so you can meet their friends and HOPEFULLY grow from that... but where as that is networking its not really marketing.
the majority of sales I have made whether $10 or $2500 did not matter, I did not have a one on one conversation to make sales. I marketed those products online and let random strangers make purchases from me. No cold calling, no parties in fact MOST of my sales happen between 1 am and 7 am while I am sleeping.
The point here is you can attract buyers using honest marketing, rather than chasing after sales by "bugging" friends and family.
